Arsenius Astrolabe (c. 1550)

The prototype was made by Gualterus Arsenius. Flemish style. Typical Arsenius-rete with 37 star-pointers. In the mater a nautical square with the old names of the winds. 3 plates for lat. 39°, 42°, 45°, 48°, 51° and 4°, with 3°-almucantars and 10°-azimuths, temporal hours and celestial houses. Back: 2.5°-azarchel-grid with 25 star-positions, horizon and break-pointer.
